FM transmitter works well but the FM band is crowded here. I switched to the 1/8 jack and the sound is great Aston be expected. The iPhone app is pretty slick too. Just remember to shut it off when you leave the car. It will run in the background and drain the battery.

This product works perfect with the iPhone 4, I was concerned beause I saw at [...] and this product is not listed as iP4 compatible.
I'm using as FM transmitter for streaming radios as Sirius, TuneIn, MusicDock, etc. I have the MusicDock app to use with the XM subscription because Howard Stern is not available at the official Sirius XM app.
I didn't use the satellite radio because is not available in my country, I pay for the XM Premium Internet Radio and use with my 3G data plan.
If you need a accessory to use as FM transmitter and charger this one is the best I have seen, I bought Griffin and many another brands and no one get close in quality, reliability and power transmission. I strongly recommend this product even if you don't use for satellite radio.

You should read the reviews for the required app in iTunes. Apple apparently doesn't allow multitasking (yet) for apps that send audio through the docking connector, and many people complain about that. Other than that, it works pretty well for me, but they should have than just 12 presets and make some changes to the screen to make it safer to use while driving, such as larger buttons for the favorites, and larger font sizes on the song names. They could have multiple screens of presents and fewer preset buttons per screen.
All that said, I like the concept, and I can use the same dock to play music from the iPod app as well as XM Radio. But without multitasking, don't expect to able to use maps and XM Radio at the same time.

I purchased the XM Skydock for my vehicle and I absolutely love it! The Skydock app works well on my Iphone and I haven't had any problems receiving or making phone calls via my vehicle's built-in bluetooth while using the SkyDock. According to XM, the app will be updated soon to be compatible with Apple's IOS 4.0 multitasking. The built in FM transmitter is surprisingly good, but I still chose to install the Sirius FM direct adapter (Audiovox Sirius FMDA25 FM Direct Adapter (Black)) to further improve the sound quality of my SkyDock. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this product again!

I agree with some of the other reviews regarding noise distortion. I can't use the AUX plug at all - get a constant whining noise that seems to match the acceleration/deceleration of my car! FM transmission is ok but not great. Can't quite find a channel that doesn't have some degree of static.
One more complaint - once you plug it in, it's there to stay. So you better be sure before you plug it in!!! The dock fits into the cigarette lighter so tightly that I now can't get it out. Wanted to move it to my husband's truck to use on a trip - thought I was going to rip the console right out of my car! Finally gave up, fearing that I would break either the skydock or my car.
Excellent concept & app works great. Needs some definite improvement on the noise distortion. Maybe some kind of filter?
