Sanyo internet radio August 4, 2010 David W. King (Marshall, TX) 1 din 1 gasit aceasta revizuire de ajutor
I like the "Plug and Play" easy set up. The menu was a bit hard to follow for configuration.
The sound is great for the size, but, of course, not like a full stereo system. It does have an outlet for stereo set and that is good. The sound always goes back to a median setting. I wish it would stay at the level I had it set for before I turned it off.
I like the remote control. It works fine. Nice compact unit; but it takes some time (very slow) to find the stations I programmed into it.
Internet radio Sanyo R227 August 3, 2010 Brad 1 din 1 gasit aceasta revizuire de ajutor
We purchased this item because we used to live in California and used to listen to the Wave Smooth Jazz. We recently moved to South Carolina and could no longer listen to the Wave.
We purchased the Sanyo R227 and the quality, reliability clarity has surpassed our expectations. We would highly recommend this radio.

I can only recommend it, if you know its limitations August 2, 2010 five-6-kilo (DE United States) 2 din 2 gasit aceasta revizuire de ajutor
Have you ever heard a song for the 1st time, and wanted to know who the artist is, and if possible, which song? If that is of any importance to you, then bypass this internet radio.
I bought the R227 about 9 month's ago, and while it does have some good points, it also has its share of negatives.
PRO:
1. Setup was not very difficult. I had everything set up for initial internet use within 15-20 minutes.
2. Dual speakers sound pretty darn good.
3. Sharp style and the unit is overall a pretty sturdy piece of equipment.
4. Can go wired or wireless, and has an AUX input.
CON:
1. The display has 3 lines, and none of them will display the artist and/or song. The 3rd line will only say "real enabled".
2. After 'setting' a preset, I cant reset that preset to anything permanently. When I set up the radio initially, I wanted to change my first 3 presets to another station/channel. The new channels stick, until I lose power to the unit, by either unplugging or commerical power is lost. All channels revert back to my ORIGINAL presets. I think the only way past that, is to totally reset the unit back to default, which is stupid.
3. Tech support is virtually non-existent. I had to email them 2 times to get an answer. They have never reponded to my 3rd query. I've had more questions answered here at Amazon by another user of the R227. Thats not a good way to conduct business IMO.
4. I have been trying to run a firmware update, but all I get is that no firmware update is available. Will there ever be a firmware update? I have no idea... Sanyo hasnt responded to my question(s).
5. Takes a while to boot up, and I've had it reboot on its own a couple of times.
Lastly:
The R227 was introduced in 2009. Digital technology has been in place to allow artist/song data for quite a long time. Why Sanyo would not give the R227 that capability is beyond me, and thus I consider it a dealbreaker. Crap, my car has a stock radio that shows artist/song. If you think you can go without such a simple little thing, then by all means.. this might be the unit for you. BUT, that first time you hear a song that you really really like but you have no idea who it is by, and you glance at the display and all you see is "REAL ENABLED".. dont say I didnt warn you.
Performs as advertised iulie 24, 2010 Nougiecat (Redwood City, CA) I was a little disappointed to find that this unit is tied to a single web site, [...]. It cannot use other internet sources such as pandora. All of the stations we're interested in are available, however. It takes quite a while to connect to the network, and to the station. About 30 seconds or so. Twice so far it has failed to connect to a station in the morning as alarm, even though the wifi strength in that room is good. Retrying worked though.
Although the radio can download new firmware if it's available, there is no information on either the Sanyo or the reciva web site about firmware upgrades.

Received this as a gift at Christmas and worked for about 6 months. Then it all of sudden cannot connect to the home network (which it had been doing successfully for 6 months). Made several attempts to troubleshoot - unplug and reconnect, tried re-configuring (no response). Did the same for the wireless router, but to no avail. Now it's just a blackbox sitting on the table. Sanyo support has been notifed but no response yet - and not likely to hear from them.
