I bought it because of the good reviews but the cable randomly shorts out and loses signal for 3-5 seconds every 5 minutes or so.

I had previously ordered a cable, but didn't realize that there was a regular end and a mini end. I ordered this one because I needed the mini plug on one end. It works!

These are excellent HDMI cables; and, for my use, there's no need to spend more. Spending more does not always result in better performance. These HDMI cables and/or the similarly low cost ones sold by Amazon, are all most folks should need.
