The Fiskars 7870 Uproot Weeder is a great tool and really works. I have been able to pull up roots that are 1" around and 10" long. I have a side lot that has been taken over by large weeds since the grass died. I am clearing the weeds by hand and pulling them up by the roots. Great product. I have told people how great this tool works. Alot of the products I buy do not work, the Fiskars 7870 Uproot weeder does work and I love it!

Just got my weeder last Tuesday and couldn't imagine having a yard without this! I've been out every day looking for weeds but I think at this point I've gotten them all. This is easy to use, no bending over, just center the claws over the weed, press down then pull back, it's that easy. I went to a bbq at my neighbors and after talking about this I brought it over and now everyone wants one too. Even the teenagers there thought it was fun & easy to use and said they wouldn't mind pulling weeds either with this. I really like that I'm not bending over and the weeder gets roots and all. No more back ache, no more just pulling the top off the weed just to have it grow back in the same place. Watch out weeds, I'm coming for you!

This product does a good job of weeding, if you are careful. I am not sure how long the product will last if you have a lot of weeds, but it seems to serve the basic purpose well. The reason for three stars is the complete lack of a convenient way to store it, and the constant fear that the plastic piece will break off (although its seems to be pretty sturdy and hasn't been damaged yet)

This item is really a winner. It truly gets at the "root" of the problem. We purchased it mostly to allow my husband who is recovering from a nasty fall which resulted in broken bones, to be able to be more active in the lawn and garden work. It truly made this possible and did a much better job than simply pulling weeds as we used to.

I bought this based on the highly positive reviews it received. But my experience is just the opposite. My complaints:
1. It leaves HUGE holes in the ground and often pulls up adjacent dirt or lawn also. Then I have to bend over to fill in the holes, taking more time and defeating the purpose.
2. It's hard to position it directly over the weed, so sometimes I have to go for it twice, creating an even bigger hole.
3. Also, to position it directly over the weed I have to bend over to see clearly, straining my back.
3. By the time I carefully position it, carefully pull it out so I don't get an even bigger chunk, dispose of the large divot, and push the dirt back in place - I could have picked 6 weeds by hand.
If someone has tips on what I'm doing wrong, I'd love a tutorial. Right now it was a waste of money. (My husband agrees.)
